Summary:

The Business Client Services Manager is responsible for GTM product utilization amongst its customer base and overall client satisfaction.  This is a hands-on position and requires the individual to take projects from concept through to implementation utilizing a strong background in payroll, taxes, human resources and benefits.    

 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees daily activities of Payroll Customer Service Department to ensure timely and accurate processing of client payroll data
  • Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel responsible for payroll service:
    • Maintains a qualified staff and recommends part-time or full-time staffing based on the needs of the business
    • Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned
    • Determines standards of performance and conducts annual reviews and provides performance coaching
    • Recommends salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals
    • Ensures proper training of personnel assigned
    • Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee morale and productivity
  • Accountable for existing client additional product utilization and strive to meet company up-sell objectives
  • Completely understand product mix. Assist Sales Director in developing product manual by participating in training programs, partner meetings, workshops or software user meetings
  • Assist business service leaders in up-sell Initiatives including education, assistance and implementation
  • Educate co-workers on additional products features and functionality on an as needed basis to assist company with product utilization and revenue goals
  • Work on operations projects to help achieve greater capacity and higher efficiency
  • Be available to back up Operational Management in time of high volume or staff shortages
  • Promote company, its services and employment to HR & professional network

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of payroll industry
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills a well as strong written and oral communication
  • Strong technical capabilities and understanding of payroll software
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve critical problem areas

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Client Service Supervisor
  • Payroll Account Managers
  • Operations Assistant

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience, ideally with a service bureau
  • Experience in a production or call center environment
  • Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification or obtained within 1 year of employment
